Hello and welcome back to Lantic Class! We've had a really fun few days getting settled back in. We have been getting to know each other with games and a circle time. We have made a very special display about celebrating our differences. Please see attached the curriculum overview for Lantic Class this half term.

Welcome back! 4/9/25

Polperro Primary Academy  |  Killigarth Nursery

Hello everyone,
It has been great to see so many of you back over the last two days and we have also welcomed some new faces to our nursery family.
We hope you all enjoyed the summer holidays and are now well rested ready to start a new term.

The children have been settling in this week and from next week we will be answering a new enquiry question relating to "all about me".

Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Julie and Sarah

Welcome to Kensa Class!

Blisland Primary Academy  |  Kensa

Sandwich Making

We have been busy tasting, designing and making our own healthy sandwiches. We tried to include foods from each of the five food groups (carbohydrates, vegetables, protein, fats and dairy). We used a range of tools to prepare our ingredients and combined them to make our own yummy lunch!

Bread Making

In DT, we have been exploring the question, 'What makes a tasty sandwich?'
We found out that bread is a fundamental part so we decided to make our own! Mrs Pengelly kindly showed us how to make the most delicious rolls. After making the dough, we shaped them into all kinds of crazy creatures? Can you guess what animals these are?

Geography

In geography, we have been learning about the four countries of the United Kingdom. We have explored the human and physical features of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and had fun constructing landmarks from Stonehenge to Tower Bridge. We learned to identify where we live on a map of the UK and the globe and considered how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

Special Delivery!

This afternoon, a strange parcel crash-landed in our playground. It contained a book and a letter from Marshall the Martian asking us to tell him more about our lives on earth. He sent us a picture of his family so we drew some pictures of our own to send back to him in space..but how will we get them there?

Welcome Back!

It has been fantastic to see the children return to school full of joy and ready to embrace their new learning!

Our topic this term is 'Where do I belong?'. We will be thinking about all the things that make us special; our families; our friends; where we live and the things we love.

Reading Reminders
Reading is one of the most important things we do in Kensa Class and we encourage all children to participate in reading activities at home at least 4 x per week. For children in Year Reception, this might be simply sharing a bedtime story together but children in Year 1 and 2 need to be reading aloud to an adult. Please record any activities you do in your child's reading record so we can celebrate their success!

PE
PE will take place on a Tuesday and Friday this term. The children should come dressed in their PE kit on these days with their school jumper to keep warm (and smart).

Thank you for making your child's return to school such a happy one, we really appreciate all you do!

Welcome to Tregantle Class!

Brunel Primary and Nursery Academy  |  YR/1 Tregantle

We are so excited to begin a brand new school year together. Our new classroom has been carefully designed to support the needs of all our children, and we can't wait to see it filled with learning, laughter, and curiosity.

For the first half of the autumn term, our class topic is 'All about Me.' Children will have the opportunity to talk about themselves and find out more about their new friends. We will be learning a new song or rhyme each week and our focus texts for the half term will be Farmer Duck, Whatever Next, Slug needs a hug and Tadpoles promise. Our story time author books will be by Eric Carle and Tom Fletcher. We will be starting our phonics lessons following the Read Write Inc program straight away. Our maths sessions will focus on numbers to 5, counting accurately and making and continuing patterns.

This year we have lots of exciting learning opportunities planned and we're really looking forward to getting to know each and every child as they begin or continue their journey in Tregantle Class. Here's to a wonderful year ahead!

With warm wishes, Mrs Grinsted, Mrs Orchard, Mrs McIntyre, Mrs Bennett, Mrs James & Mrs Newman
